3.Will I be charged for phone calls?

If the call is short and related to following up on the current treatment plan, you will not be charged. However if the call  is more than 15 minutes, requires evaluation or change of medications or requires crisis intervention or support, you may be billed for each 15 minute interval. However this really depends on each individual situation.

About Appointments

1. What if I am late?

Unfortunately it is very difficult to make up lost time due to having back to back appointments. I will try to address crucial aspects within the remaining time. However if more time is needed, I will try to work you into the schedule at a sooner date.

2. How long are the visits?

Typically visits are 30 minutes or an hour although shorter or longer time frames can be arranged. Most of the period is face to face time but usually the last 5 minutes are reserved for documentation and to allow transition between clients.

3. How many times do I need to see you?

That all really depends on each individual. Usually someone in crisis would be seen more frequently, possibly as much as weekly. For those who are doing well and just need maintenance treatments or without significant medication adjustments, every 3 months is adequate.

4. What if I miss an appointment?

Cancellations should be made at least 48 hours in advance. Don’t worry, I will give plenty of reminders to makes sure that you are aware. However if you did not cancel and within 48 hours and do not show for the appointment, a missed appointment fee of 50% of the scheduled appointment fee will be charged to the credit card on file.

5. Do you have appointments any other day than Saturday?

Online appointments are sometimes available at other times of the week and will depend on my schedule. Online appointments can be very convenient, allowing you to visit with me in the comfort of your home or office.

In Crisis

1. What do I do in case of an emergency?

I typically respond to messages in 24-48 hours, often sooner. However if you are in a crisis and need immediate evaluation such as in case of severe drug reaction or side effect, thoughts of suicide, thoughts of hurting others, or any other emergency, please call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room for evaluation.
