How care works
Your first visit
A first visit is usually close to an hour, sometimes up to 75 minutes. It is a thorough evaluation, not a 15-minute glance at a chart. I want to know what you have already tried, what your body did with it, and what you actually want to feel like. We decide on a treatment plan together. Medication can be prescribed that first visit if it is needed.
If care includes a controlled medication, an in-person visit in Pasadena is required.
I use medication and psychotherapy together when that is the right fit: CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic work, mindfulness, relaxation training, and biofeedback. When I prescribe, I talk through benefits, risks, and side effects. I work with you to reduce unnecessary medications and side effects, listen to what you need, and decide together. I will not force a treatment.
Follow-up visits are typically 20 to 30 minutes. Medication review and therapy happen in the same visit. Longer visits of 50 minutes, focused on therapy, are also available.
I can meet by video if that is more convenient, or in person at 595 E. Colorado Blvd, Suite 205, Pasadena, on the second floor in the shared Olida Therapy Suites. Map and parking are on the Location page. I see adults only. Appointments by video are through the Therapy Notes patient portal.
In person is by appointment, mostly on Saturdays, and some Fridays.
I typically respond to messages in 24 to 48 hours. That is not an emergency service. For crisis, call 988 or 911.
