What it can feel like

Trauma is not only combat or a single event. People often describe being on guard, disconnected, ashamed, or flooded by memories they did not ask for.

How I work with it

I practice with trauma in mind: safety first, no forcing a story. Medication can take the edge off nightmares, hyperarousal, or depression. Psychotherapy is often part of getting a life back.

The first stretch

The first stretch is about trust and pacing. We do not have to start with the worst memory.

A bit more

You do not have to tell the whole story to start. Safety, sleep, and having a person you trust in the room (or on video) come first. Culture and family history are part of this work, not extras.
